calxdo isn’t a character. He’s what was left when hiding stopped working.
Melbourne artist calxdo makes music from the parts of life most people struggle to say out loud — fatherhood, addiction, anxiety, isolation, broken relationships, losing time, fighting to rebuild, and the moments where simply staying alive becomes the win.
After years of writing privately, music became somewhere to put the things he couldn’t explain in conversation. What started as a way to survive his own darkest periods slowly became something bigger when strangers began hearing themselves inside the songs.
That connection became the purpose.
calxdo doesn’t write from a pedestal and he isn’t interested in pretending he has everything figured out. The records come from inside the mess — from mistakes he owns, battles he is still fighting, people he misses, children he loves, and lessons that came with a cost.
Songs like “Still Here,” “Find Your Way Home,” “Accused,” “Anchor” and others document different pieces of that journey, moving between brutally honest storytelling, vulnerable piano records, heavy emotional production and moments of hope.
At the centre of it all is one idea:
Tell the truth, even when the truth isn’t pretty.
Because somewhere there is a father missing his kids.
Someone fighting an addiction nobody knows about.
Someone staring at the ceiling wondering whether they can make it through another night.
Someone convinced nobody would understand.
calxdo makes music for them.
Not to tell people that life magically gets better.
To remind them that they’re still here — and that means the story isn’t finished.
This is proof of life.
This is calxdo.
